What our seminar participants say....
Well worth the investment of fifty pounds! I am better prepared to have a discussion with my advisor who guided me to this approach - so for that I thank you! The E-venue was appropriate to the instruction and the material and your and Tina's insight was very informative. This GT approach has tremendous rigor in what you describe as a elegant process. I thought the length was just about right also. (USA) Thank you again for such an informative seminar yesterday. It was very helpful to hear about the other participant's studies and their journeys. Thank you for the coverage of coding. I finally feel like this is making sense now that I saw how one of my interviews can be coded. (USA) Thank you so much for all of your help during the seminar. It was extremely helpful to me. Thanks too for using my transcript for coding. Seeing my own data being coded real-time is particulary helpful, as I try to understand GT....... Again, thank you very much for such an informative, helpful and relevant seminar. (Ireland) I have already emailed a friend to tell her how wonderful today's seminar was. I also loved the Nefsis system and hope to get people at my university to consider using it. On the seminar itself, I think it was a great introduction and overview of GT and having us actually practice coding something was brilliant.... I think the pace was good and appreciated the fact that you didn't mind questions throughout rather than all at the end or during a specific break. (USA) What did you like? I liked listening to the experiences of others, this helped me and got me thinking about my own work! What could be improved? I cant think of anything. Was it worth your money? Yes – well worth the money. Was the content what you expected? Yes. (Ireland) I thought it was very helpful to talk about my proposal and to hear the challenges that the others are facing with their own proposals. I learned more about grounded theory and was interested to see how others are using it. I particularly enjoyed the coding practice. (USA) Thank you so much for hosting such a fantastic seminar on Saturday! I love the forum, it was very helpful for me to hear about others projects, challenges, and ideas. I feel much better armed for my meeting. (USA) I found [the introductory seminar] to be so helpful. I just finished my IRB application and I understood the methodology so much better, you just don't know how helpful your seminar was to me. (USA) I did get what I expected, or maybe I should say as much as thought I would receive from the seminar description..... I don't have my notes in front of me, but I remember getting 2 or 3 gems and several more clarifications, so I feel as though I received my money's worth. (USA) I walked away from the Seminar with a healthy bit of validation and useful feedback about my ideas from a CGT perspective I liked the Nefsis platform. It was easy to access, the sound quality was pretty solid throughout, and the ability to toggle back and forth between documents was really neat. I enjoyed the hands on coding exercises with the live feedback feature best. Combining the experiential component (real coding with instant feedback and discussion) with the didactic pieces worked very well for me. (USA) Just wanted to say thanks again for a great seminar – it was so valuable doing coding in real time and hearing differing views. Many thanks for your warm support and advice (New Zealand) I have started coding my interviews - at last! Breaking a six month "coders block" caused by indecision about the best way to proceed The session was a really time-effective way to learn more about GT for me. Reading is very useful of course, but actually seeing how two different GT experts code was terrifically helpful & having them critique and offer suggestions for your own coding method was also priceless! (Australia) I want to thank you so very much for the conversation and great help you gave me last last night/this morning. I'm very energized to get my study going and feel that I have a more clear direction and excellent resources in GT Online (USA) I just finished re-reading Ch 2, 3, 4 in Part 1 of The Discovery of Grounded Theory. I just thought I should let you know it all seems much clearer now. Your seminar was timely and very much appreciated (Australia) Thank you very much for the great seminar (Germany) |
